Believe it or not, that is a cake! Vera from Baking Obsession did an stunning job on this Skyrim Cake. The cake features Alduin, the World Eater. Vera made this amazing cake for her son. The writing in the front of the cake is in Dragon and reads “Happy Birthday Tim”.
The rock Alduin is standing on was made of four 13″x18″ sheets of chocolate cake, soaked in strawberry syrup, and sandwiched with bittersweet strawberry ganache. Alduin’s core is made of modeling chocolate. His scales, horns, and spikes are made from gum paste. The double-sided wings are half-and-half (fondant/gum paste). His eyes are Swarovsky crystals.
The end results is one of the finest cakes I’ve ever seen.
Here are more pictures of this masterpiece. I don’t usually use this many photos of one cake. But, the detail on Alduin is amazing. It boggles my mind that he was made from chocolate, gum paste, and fondant.
This wonderful Skyrim Cake was made by Charm City Cakes. It features Alduin from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The craftsmanship of Alduin is incredible. It’s amazing how he is perched on top of the rock and has free hanging wings.
