Never Forget – Memorial Day Cake

Memorial Day Cake

This splendid Memorial Day cake features a folded flag surrounded by red poppies. There is a yellow ribbon on top of the flag that says Never Forget.

This wonderful cake was made by Les Gateaux de Gilles

This cake was part of In Their Honor, A Memorial Day Collaboration

The red poppies were inspired by the poem written by Miona Michael that was based on another poems called, “ In Flanders Fields.”

We cherish too, the Poppy red

That grows on fields where valor led,

It seems to signal to the skies

That blood of heroes never dies.

The red poppies honor those who died while fighting for their country.

This is my contribution to the In Their Honor Memorial Day Collaboration. My piece is a modeling chocolate copy of the Angel of Victory WWI memorial in Vancouver Canada. I dedicate it to all those whole paid the ultimate price to fight for freedom.
