This adorable Yogi and Cindy Bear Cookie was made by Moronitas De Sabores for the Cartoons The Sugar Collaboration.
Cindy is leaning against Yogi and Yogi has his arm around her. Yogi has his other arm raised in the air. He is looking right at you, while Cindy is looking to the side.
Yogi is wearing his usual green hat and tie and white collar. Cindy has on a little blue skirt and is carrying a matching parasol.
I grew up in the age where Hanna-Barbera was the king of TV cartoons, so I have a real fondness for characters like Yogi and Cindy. Hanna-Barbera did something brilliant with their characters. They treated them more like actors than characters in a show. Yogi didn’t just appear in cartoons where he was trying to steal picnic baskets and outwit Ranger Smith. He was also a team captain in Laff-A-Lympics, he raced in outer space in Yogi’s Space Race, hunted treasure in Yogi’s Treasure Hunt and tackled social issues like pollution in Yogi’s Gang.
Unfortunately, Hanna-Barbera never developed Cindy Bear as much Yogi. She appeared in almost every one of Yogi’s spin-off TV series and in most of Yogi Bear’s movies. But, she was rarely portrayed as more than Yogi’s on again / off again love interest.
