 Hog’s Head Pub Cake

This wonderful Hog’s Head Pub Cake was made by Antonio’s Kitchen.  It was created for Birthday Mischief Managed, an all edible collaboration project of Harry Potter characters and scenes, a tribute to Harry Potter’s birthday and JK Rowling’s 50th birthday.

The Hog’s Head Inn is an inn and pub in the all wizarding village of Hogsmeade. The bar at the Hog’s Head comprises one small, very dirty, and dingy room that has bay windows that are so encrusted with filth that you can barely see through them. The place is filled with rough wooden tables that generally have nothing except the stubs of candles sitting upon their surfaces. The stone floor of the place is so dirty that it looks as though there is not a floor at all, but instead that the building is simply built on open ground. The Hog’s Head is owned and operated by Aberforth Dumbledore.

The Hog’s Head is known for being the kind of disreputable establishment that the shady type like to frequent. Due to the shadiness, it is somewhat a sense of fashion for the customers to keep their faces hidden, and Aberforth had never had a large number of customers inside at once prior to the recruiting meeting of Dumbledore’s Army.

 Hog’s Head Pub Cake

The Hog’s Head which gave the pub it’s name.

The detail on this cake is amazing.  The texture on the wood and stone is so perfect that it is hard to believe they’re edible.  I love the fact that there are wooden barrels of butterbear.  The Hog’s head is teriffic.

While the Hog’s Head Pub is a completely fictional place, you can actually visit it at the Wizarding World Harry Potter and have a mug of Butterbear.
