This Fabulous Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves Cake was made for the Everyone’s Story Matters Collaboration which is an international cake collaboration celebrating International Literacy Day in support of ALS Research. To celebrate International Literacy Day, a group of cake artists, from around the world, decided to honour all of the stories that matter to them, and to their children. William Joyce says it best in one of his books “Everyone’s story matters.”

One of the classic Arabian tales of all, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is a story that captivated me as a child. It is a thrilling plot that will fascinate you. It is a story about a poor woodcutter who discovers the secret hideout of robbers which has a password. A fantastic fable that every age group would enjoy reading and narrating. My piece is a trailer to the story. Presenting the lead characters Ali Baba, a poor woodcutter awe struck with gold. A hidden cave door that opens with a secret password. An iconic scene, thieves hidden in the oil containers. Which is depicted in cake carved oil pot. Hidden killer thief ready to shed blood and loot. To unfold the story read it.
