When I was a kid, Hanna-Barbera cartoons were my favorites. I loved the Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo and their various Saturday morning cartoons. Yogi Bear was extremely popular on Saturday morning. How popular was he? On Laff-A-Lypics, he had has own team – The Yogi Yahooeys. What was really odd about Yogi’s popularity was that the one place you rarely ever saw Yogi was in his own cartoons.
When our kids were born, I purchased boxed sets of the Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear series and we watched them all the time. Yogi’s cartoons are wonderful and I wish I’d seen more of them as a kid. I really enjoy his rivalry with Ranger Smith and his interactions with Boo-Boo and Cindy Bear.
