Great Mad Hatter Cake

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was, like all his others movies, a unique masterpiece. This cake, based on it, is also nothing less. It does a great job capturing Tim Burton’s Mad Hatter.   This cake won Second Place in the Cake Central Alice in Wonderland Cake Contest. The best part of this cake would have to be the realism of the Mad Hatters face. This Mad Hatter face was skillfully crafted using modeling chocolate to sculpt the facial features on top of a Rice Krispies Treats base.  A thin layer of fondant was used to apply the finishing features. The internal structure of the cake was made using a wooden base and a series of flanges and PVC pipe to support the neck, head, and hat. This awesome cake was made by Cake Central Member ohnoono.
