We’re Holding A Batman Day Party In The Batcave And You Are Invited

Batcave Cake made by Mike's Amazing Cakes

Today is Batman Day! To celebrate, throughout the day, I’ll be sharing four of my favorite Batman Cakes. I’m beginning the party with this stunning Batcave Cake which I first shared all the way back in 2014.

This wonderful edible scaled model of the Batcave from the 1966 Batman television series was created by Mike’s Amazing Cakes. Mike McCarey’s Batman cakes are so amazing, I’ll be featuring a second one later today. Everything except the Batmobile is edible. The Batmobile is a die cast model.

This Batcave has the Batcomputer, the Batmobile, an atomic reactor, and many other devices. If you look carefully at the side of the Batcave, you will see the Batpoles. The area looks like an elevator shaft with two long poles in it. The Batpoles lead up to Wayne Manor. Compressed steam caused a platform at the bottom of the Batpoles to go back up to Wayne Manor. Half way down the Batpoles is an Instant Costume-Change Lever so Batman and Robin change into costume as they slide down into the Batcave.  I always loved that special effect in Batman ‘66.  I don’t recall them ever sliding up the Batpoles to get back into Wayne manor.

On the other side of the Batcave is the secret entrance. It is in front of the Batmobile. This Batcave Cake is an edible set designed for the client’s die cast Batmobile. The Batmobile is sitting on the giant turn-table of the Batcave. It rotated the car so it would be facing the secret entrance to the Batcave and be ready for when Batman and Robin needed it.

The Batmobile (not cake!)

Here is a view from the secret entrance.
