TARDIS

Fabulous TARDIS and Sonic Screwdriver Cake

TARDIS Cake

This Fabulous TARDIS and Sonic Screwdriver Cake was made by Custom Cake Designs. This Doctor Who cake was made for the 30th birthday of Doctor Who fan. The TARDIS light at the top actually lights up with the help of a battery powered LED light. This TARDIS cake is about 12 inches tall.

This sugar paste handmade Doctor Who tool is the sweetest 11th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver that I have ever seen. Matt Smith’s sonic screwdriver had a physic interface that allowed the Doctor to point at a target and think of the function he wanted.

The cake board is black and has the words Happy 30th Birthday in white letters on the edge of the cake board. There is a nice outerspace background behind the cake.  It makes it look like the TARDIS is flying through space.

The small TARDIS and large sonic screwdriver reminds me of the episode where Clara was on the outside of the TARDIS and The Doctor was stuck inside the TARDIS when it was locked in miniature form in the episode ‘Flatline’ with Peter Capildi as The Doctor.

The Doctor vs The Death Star

TARDIS Cake

I made this Doctor Who Cake for my niece’s birthday. She is a fan of Doctor Who and Star Wars so I wanted to make a cake that combines Doctor Who and Star Wars. I designed a cake that shows what could happen if the TARDIS happened upon the Death Star in outer space.  I could imagine the Doctor’s companion looking into space at the Death Star. The Doctor and the companion would be chatting about what it was. One would say something like, “What is that? Is that a small planet or a moon?” As they get closer, the companion realizes that things are not as they should be and says, “Doctor, that’s no moon.”

I took the line from Obi Wan where he says “That’s no moon” when talking about the Death Star as the Millennium Falcon is approaching it when it enters the space where Alderaan used to be.

This Cake is one side of a two-sided cake. The other side is a Touche Turtle Cake.

Death Star Cake

Here’s a view of the cake from the top. The TARDIS is flying through space. There are stars and planets all around. And there’s the Death Star from Star Wars.

The cake board is red. The cake is covered in fondant and airbrushed to look like outer space. The Death Star was made using modeling chocolate. The TARDIS was made from white chocolate colored blue and then painted with blue petal dust. Fondant was used to make the Police Box sign and the white sign on the door. The yellow ribbon in front was made using fondant sheets. The words were written with an edible marker.

Fabulous K9, Dalek, and TARDIS Cake

TARDIS Cake

This Fabulous TARDIS Cake with K9 and a red Dalek was made by Sweet Fusion Cakes. The cake says Happy Geekday to wish a Happy Birthday. The TARDIS is blue with touches of a light coating of black ink to show aging and signs of wear. The Dalek is red and silver, and K9 is silver.

This cake is ten inches tall and six inches wide. Modeling chocolate was used to make the Dalek and K-9.

Dalek Cake

This red Dalek has a red finish with silver bumps on top of the red and silver and black details on the Dalek. The bottom edge of the base of the Dalek is a black band.

K9 Cake

K9 is silver with red sensors for his eyes. He is a robot dog created by Professor Marius and a companion of the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker, in the BBC Television Show Doctor Who. His silver ears are rotating probes. His nose hides a laser weapon. He has a waggling tail antennae. The letters K9 are printed on his side.

The top of the TARDIS is highlighted in black to show weathering to the TARDIS. This picture shows the light on top of the TARDIS and the POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX sign on the top of each side of the TARDIS.

This is a closeup of the sign on the door that says ‘Police Telephone Free For Use of Public Advise and Assistance Obtainable Immediately Officer and cars Respond To All Calls. Pull To Open.’

The sign looks like it was made from white fondant and handwritten using an edible marker.

The TARDIS Has Gone To The Dogs

Doctor Who Cake

This Awesome TARDIS Cake was made by Little Cherry Cake Company. This TARDIS will be a big hit at any Doctor Who birthday party. The TARDIS is painted blue and airbrushed with a darker blue overtone. There are two tiny metal looking handles and a metal lock on the front of the TARDIS. The white windows are slightly inset into the door frame. Beside the TARDIS is a white dog with black ears and nose. It looks like a Pug wearing Matt Smith’s red Fez hat and red bowtie. The cake board is purple and black with small white dots to represent outer space with white stars. The light on top of the TARDIS lights up.
