This Superb Downton Abbey Cake inspired by a dress worn by a model at the fashion show was made for the Downton Abbey Themed Cake Collaboration – A Sweet Farewell To Downton.

My name is Elle Warren, and I began cake decorating about four years ago. I consider myself to be purely a hobby baker, but feel very lucky to have so many wonderful cake friends around the world. I feel even more honoured to have been invited to partake in this fabulous Downton Abbey collaboration.
Here is Elli’s description of her Superb cake:
I loved the design and colours of my inspiration photo which was taken from the Downton Abbey fashion show season 5, episode 4. It wasn’t easy to make the taupe colour but I think I just about got there eventually! Also, the dress was sleek and quite elegant, so I decided to make a tall cake consisting of five tiers to try and achieve this look. I used ruffles and lace for the dress pattern and also added cream flowers and berries for some added elegance.
