Welcome, foolish mortal! The Haunted Mansion is my husband’s favorite Disney ride, so I’ve ridden it many times. I always enjoy the stretching room, it is such a wonderful special effect. When I saw a pumpkin that mashed up a Haunted Mansion’s stretching room portrait with The Nightmare Before Christmas, I wanted to share it.
This pumpkin was painted by Butterfly Creation on Etsy. The Tightrope Walker Stretching Room Portrait features a picture of a woman (Sarah “Sally” Slater) wearing a white dress and holding a parasol. She is standing on a flimsy tightrope. Beneath the tightrope is a lake with a large alligator. The alligator is looking up at the woman and has its mouth open.
This pumpkin takes that stretching room portrait and brilliantly mashes it up with The Nightmare Before Christmas. Instead of Sally Slater, the tightrope walker is Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Instead of an Alligator, Sally is being menaced by the giant snake. The snake is so long that its body frames the portrait.
