Grinch Who Stole Christmas Pumpkin Carving

Every year during the month of October, I share a bunch of wonderful pumpkin carvings. While working on those spooktacular posts, I saw this pumpkin and knew I wanted to share it in during Christmas season.  This amazing Grinch Who Stole Christmas Pumpkin Carving was created by Brandy Davis.

The detail on the Grinch’s face is wonderful. My favorite part is the eye brows and fur on the side of his face.  Most carvers discard the stringy pieces, but Brandy incorporated them brilliantly.

Neat bit of trivia. Brandy is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s heaviest pumpkin carving. She and two other carvers carved a 2,076 pound Jack O’Lantern.

While we don’t have any carvings that size, we do have a stunning collection of Pumpkin Carvings.

Universal Monsters Pumpkins

Happy Halloween!

Hope you have a monstrously good day.

Universal Monsters Pumpkins

When I saw these amazing Universal Monsters Pumpkins created by Robert Kriess of Carved In Kin, I knew that I wanted to share them on Halloween.

Dracula Pumpkin

Here is Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula.  The photo realism on these pumpkins is amazing.

Frankenstein Pumpkin

Frankenstein Pumpkin

Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s Monster. I really like all the different shades of light that Robert uses on the Monster’s face.

Creature From The Black Lagoon Pumpkin

Creature From The Black Lagoon Pumpkin

The Creature from the Black Lagoon, also known as Gill-man, as played by both Ben Chapman and Ricou Browning. Ben played the creature on land, while Ricou portrayed him in the water. I can’t imagine having to carve ever gill and line on the Creature.

Wolfman Pumpkin

Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolf-Man.

Mummy Pumpkin

Mummy Pumpkin

Boris Karloff again, but this time as the Mummy, Imhotep.  How amazing are these pumpkins? Look at face on this pumpkin and then scroll up to the carving of Frankenstein’s Monster and look at his face. You can tell that both played by the same actor. That’s how perfect the details on these carvings are.

While this is my last pumpkin post until next October, Halloween isn’t over at Between The Pages Blog. I still have one more Halloween post this afternoon, so please come back and join the fun.

Rancor Pumpkin

This amazing Rancor Pumpkin was carved Maniac Pumpkin Carvers.  Rumor has it that it was created for a well know Hutt who wanted to decorate his palace for Halloween.  The detail on the Rancor is absolutely wonderful. This is one pumpkin I wouldn’t want to face at the bottom of a pit!

R2-D2 Pumpkin

This absolutely stunning R2-D2 Pumpkin was carved by Alex Wer, The Pumpkin Geek. The detail on R2 is out of this world. He has so many little panels and access ports and Alex recreates them perfectly. I also really like the different shades of light he used, it makes R2-D2  look like he is well worn after being through so many adventures. This pumpkin is definitely the droid you’re looking for!
