Ursula Pie

Ursula Pie

Ursula Pie

This wicked Ursula Pie was created by Inspired To Taste. It features Ursula, Flotsam and Jetsam. I really like the design of this pie. Ursula has her back to us and her hands raised so it looks like she is casting a spell. Her tentacles cover the edge of two thirds of the pie and the detail on them is amazing. The very top of the pie edge has Flotsam and Jetsam on it. At the bottom of the pie, the crust sticks out past Ursula and has been modeled to look like starfish and conch shells. Ursula’s primary colors are black and a pinkish purple, so using a blackberry / blueberry filling is the perfect choice to work with these colors. This is without a doubt the finest pie under the sea!

Here is Liz’s description of this stunning pie:

This #seawitch pie has a spiced vegan cookie crust with blackberry/blueberry filling. The entire thing is low-carb, reduced-sugar, mostly vegan, and pretty damn healthy for a sinful-themed dessert. I used @lakantosweetener in place of sugar and @mammachia to thicken the filling. Topping details are painted with a combo of @sweetsticksau’s #edibleartpaint and @poppypaints, and I added edible glitter to the filling with @bakerybling.

Black & Green Maleficent Cake

This black & green Maleficent cake is a 3-tier cake where the tall middle tier has a silhouette of Meleficent in black against a yellow-green background. In addition inside this is a yellow-green silhouette of Sleeping Beauty holding a single rose. Black trees border the sides.

This wonderful cake was made by Madl Creations.

The short single layer top and bottom tiers look like fondant dark grey granite. Green wings at the top of the cake and the green ball on top of Maleficent’s staff beside the cake blend well with the yellow-green. The black and green give this cake a  nice Disney villain atmosphere.

Purple & Green Maleficent Castle Cake

Maleficent Castle Cake

Maleficent Cake

This Purple & Green Maleficent castle cake has a cute fondant figure of Maleficent on top of the castle, and a 2-D fondant dragon on the side of the bottom tier below the castle.  This is a 50th birthday cake shown by the gold number 50 on the side of the castle.  Notice the stairs just beneath it that lead into the castle.

This wonderful cake was made by Little Cherry Cake Company.

Fondant Maleficent cake topper

Here’s a close-up of this fondant Maleficent figure. She is holding her gold staff.  The top of the castle is airbrushed shaded dark gray to blend in nicely with the figure. It lends to the dark atmosphere of the dragon attacking Sleeping Beauty’s castle. In addition, her purple collar matches the purple trim on the rest of her robe.

Maleficent Dragon Cake

I like the way the background places your attention on the dragon.  A neon yellow has been airbrushed onto the cake then the rest of the tier is painted neon green around the edges, leaving a yellow circle framing the dragon. The dragon was cut out from black and light purple fondant. Highlights are painted on in gold lustre dust edible paint.

Maleficent 50th Birthday Cake

The black cake board with woodgrain blends nicely with the black vines around the dragon and the black trim on the castle and Maleficent’s robe.
