Homer Simpson Meets The Incredible Hulk

Homer Simpson / Hulk Cake

This wonderful Homer Simpson / Hulk Cake was made by Inspired Cakes By Amy.  It is a two layer cake.  On top of the cake is Homer Simpson as the Hulk standing beside a giant donut.  The two layers of the cake are covered with comic book covers.  The bottom layer is covers from Marvel and DC super hero comics.  The top layer is covers from Doctor Who and Star Trek comics.

 

Homer Simpson / Hulk Cake Topper

This cake topper is simply wonderful.  The character’s design is is based on the episode “Homer is the Incredible Hulk.”  Amy sculpted the donut from Rice Krispies Treats and fondant. The Incredible Hulk /Homer was modeled entirely from fondant.

Steve Barela of Child’s Pastry Shop created this Magnificent blue Otto Mann picture. The entire picture is done is shades of blue except for the guitar, which is in light and dark brown and Otto’s hair and eyes, which are black. This edible portrait was airbrushed onto fondant. This Wonderful Simpson’s picture is based on The Old Guitarist by Picasso.

Kerri Partridge Morris from Somethin’ Sweet made this Fabulous Crazy Cat Lady edible masterpiece. The Crazy Cat Lady aka Eleanor Abernathy has her cats gathered together to go onto the ark. The Cat Lady is wearing a pink long dress with a light purple cloak. She has a wooden staff and has 2 blue cats at her feet. She is holding 2 black cats and 2 orange and black striped cats. This Simpson’s edible painting is based on Noah’s Ark by Edward Hicks.

Hajnalka Mayor of Zorica’s Cake Art made this Superb edible Simpsons artwork featuring Lunch Lady Doris aka Doris Freedman. Doris is wearing a blue patterned skirt. There is a brown bear and ladies in white standing around her. This Amazing Lunch Lady Doris was inspired by Gustav Klimt’s Beethoven Frieze. Lunch Lady Doris replaced a figure that represented intemperance in the original artwork. This picture was hand painted onto a fondant canvas with edible colors, an edible marker, and cocoa butter.

Jamie Ho of Wicked Little Cake Company created this Fabulous Disco Stu from the Simpsons. Disco Stu is sitting on top of a silver disco ball. He is wearing a white suit with a black shirt.  The disco ball is crashing into a white cement block wall.  The hole left in the wall by the disco ball is rainbow colored. This Terrific Simpson’s artwork was inspired by the works of Banksy.

Blake Anthony from BlakeyCakes crafted this Marvelous Ranier Wolfcastle in a Radioactive Man costume.  The cake board is yellow. There is a 25th at the bottom of the Radioactive Man figure.  The ‘2’ and the ‘5’ look very much like pink iced donuts covered with multicolored sprinkles on the top. The sides of the numbers are yellow.  Ranier Wolfcastle is wearing yellow boots, red pants, a red shirt and a yellow cape. His nose and mouth are yellow. The rest of his face is covered in a red cowl mask. He has green eyes. The top of this red cowl has a radioactive symbol in the middle and a yellow lightning bolt coming out of the top. This Splendid Simpson’s cake was done in a Futuristic style with a graphic design flair. It was based on Enrico Prampolinis’ Portrait of Marinetti.

This Fabulous Grandpa Simpson Cake was created by Ant Roman from Nerdache Cakes. Grandpa Simpson is wearing a brown robe with a white shirt underneath it. He has a headpiece that is blue at his head and has tan fabric coming out of the blue to look somewhat like a desert nomad hat. He is wearing wire rimmed glasses and has a single pearl earring in his ear. This wonderful Simpson’s Cake is based on Johannes Vermeers’ Girl with the Pearl Earring.

Hiromi Greer  Plopper the Spider Pig

Hiromi Greer of Haute Sweets crafted this Fabulous Plopper Cake. Homer renamed Plopper Spider-Pig and Harry Plopper, and eventually just called him Plopper. Plopped is immersed in a white cup of brown mud and the mud is overflowing the cup and spilling onto the white saucer.  Plopper is light pinkish tan colored with a white tuff of hair at the top of his head. His feet are gray. There are pig footprints on the floor and wall beside the white cup and saucer.  A donut with pink icing and sprinkles with the number 25 is in front of white cup and saucer. The ’25’ represents the Simpson’s 25th Anniversary.  This Wonderful Simpsons Cake was based on Yoshitomo Nara’s Pup Cup.

His mouth and eyes are sewn shut. His hair is blue and a white bone is tied into the hair near the top. This Amazing Simpsons Cake was based on Dirty Don Gillies Shrunken Head.

This Superb Jasper Cake was made by Magpies Bakery.  Jasper is in the middle of the cake dressed in blue pants, red shirt, and green vest.  He is holding up a cane in his hand just like Moses held up a staff. He is standing on dry ground with the red sea parted all around him. There is a yellow octopus, a pink fish and a purple fish in the suspended waves of the Red Sea. This Splendid Simpson’s cake was based on the painting Moses Parting the Red Sea by Siegfried Detler.

Moe The Bartender Cake

Bo Hons of Wolfbay Cafe crafted this Spectacular Mo the Bartender Cake. The cake board has a woodgrain finish. There is a yellow sign with 25 years for The Simpsons 25th Anniversary. On top of the cake board is a mug of Duff beef filled to the brim and overflowing with white froth and foam. Mo the Bartender is standing inside the mug of Duff beer. He is wearing a blue shirt with a red tie. He has a hand towel draped over his arm and he is wearing a white apron. On top of Mo is a can of Duff beer turned upside down and pouring onto Mo and into the mug. This cake is a blend of Realism and Surrealism. This Simpsons cake captures the essence of Mo the Bartender very well.

Ned Flanders Cake

Chef Mitchie from Mitchies Munchies made this Awesome Ned Flanders Cake. Ned Flanders is dressed in robes like those that Moses would wear. He is standing on top of a rock with a painting of the Red Sea parted behind him.  Beside him is a stone tablet with the words “THOU SHALL NOT DIDDLY DOODLY IN VAIN.” There are stones in front of Ned arranged in the shape of the number 25 for the Simpsons 25 Anniversary. This Simpsons Cake is a mash-up inspired by Frank McCarthy’s Ten Commandments movie poster. This piece is dedicated to the family and fans of Frank McCarthy who died of lung cancer in 2002.

Santas Little Helper Cake

Anna Garcia of Designer Cakes by Anna Garcia made this Terrific Santa’s Little Helper Cake. The cake board is painted blue to represent water. On the front corner is a section of white with a hand holding a pen. An eye and the word CREATOR is painted on the hand. On the other front corner of the board, Bart’s head is sticking up above the water. In front of Bart, a 25 is painted on top of the water. Just behind Bart there is a donut floating in the water. The donut has pink icing with sprinkles. Santa’s Little Helper is lying on his back on top of the donut.  Near the back of the board, Maggie Simpson’s head is just sticking above the water. There is a backdrop board painted blue for the sky. It has green grass at the bottom where it meets the cake board. A red fire hydrant with blue water flowing out takes up one side. The other side has a constellation in the shape of Marge Simpson. On top of that is a white moon with a silhouette on top of it. This Marelous Simpsons edible artwork is done in a Surrealism art style.

Homer Simpson Cake

Julie Freund from Of Cakes and Cupcake (and Apollo too) made this Magnificent Homer Simpson wearing a Muumuu edible masterpiece. Homer is also known as Muumuu Homer here. Homer looks like he is about the size of a cupcake. Homer has on a blue Muumuu with pink flowers. He is wearing blue slippers and a white cap. He is standing in the room of an art gallery with a wooden floor and 2 walls. On the first wall is a sculpture of a two headed bear wearing red hats and a red heart in front of the bear with 7 knives sticking into it. This chocolate bear sculpture is based on Liz Mcgrath’s sculpture Bear of Seven Sorrows. Beside the bears is a painting in the shape of a cross. The painting has a girl with wings covered by a large steak. A golden crown floats above her. Below her is a pond and a cow. On either side of her are pictures of steaks, roasts, and hot dogs. This painting was based on Mark Ryden’s The Angel of Meat. On the other wall there is a large picture of Homer lying on a beige couch wearing only donuts. There is an aquamarine blanket on top of the couch. The Aquamarine rug on the floor in front of the couch is covered with crushed red Duff beer cans. Beside the couch is a purple table with an aquamarine phone. The walls of the painting are pink. This painting  with Homer is based on Lucien Freud’s Benefits Supervisor Sleeping. The main idea of this Wonderful Simpson’s masterpiece was to show Homer dressed in a Muumuu in an art gallery contemplating a portrait of himself.  The other portraits were some of the artist’s favorite works of art.
