This gorgeous Downton Abbey Cake inspired by one of Lady Edith’s Dresses was made for the Downton Abbey Themed Cake Collaboration – A Sweet Farewell To Downton.
This gorgeous cake was made by Zawadi Parizek from The Honey Bunny Cake Shop. Zawadi is the founder of the United Nations of Sugar Artists which every year hold a cake collaboration that raises money for charity. Last year, the United Nations of Sugar Artists held a collaboration called BeTeamRed which raised money on World AIDS Day.
The intricate detail and texture on this cake is wonderful. The bottom of the cake looks like it has pleated blue cloth on it to match the dress. The middle is light blue and has light gold circles with light gold centers that look like the top of the dress. The top of the cake has a gold pattern which is at the top of the dress. Zawadi included the necklace that Lady Edith was wearing. There is also a blue and gold flower at the top of the cake. I really like Zawadi’s use of color on this cake. Almost all of the cake is various shades blue and gold.
