This Splendid Downton Abbey Cake inspired by Lord Grantham’s Military Dress Uniform was made for the Downton Abbey Themed Cake Collaboration – A Sweet Farewell To Downton.
This Splendid cake was made by Gilles Leblanc from Les Gateaux de Gilles located in Quebec, Canada.
Here is Gilles’s description of his Splendid cake:
My inspiration was Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley, the 7th Earl of Grantham, in his military uniform and poppies flowers. For this cake, I made a double barrel cake depicting the design from the sleeve of the uniform. It is standing on a pedestal of poppies.
