As you can tell from all of the posts I have written about Batman cakes, Batman is one of my favorite Superheroes. I seen every episode of Batman the Animated Series and I have seen most of the Batman ’66 television show episodes.

One of the episodes in Batman The Animated Series that I really like was called Beware the Gray Ghost. I enjoyed the role Adam West played as Simon Trent, a washed-up actor who played a superhero called The Gray Ghost.

I purchased the Batman 66 show when it came out on DVD and I have enjoyed watching Adam West play Batman and Bruce Wayne.  He was a talented actor who could hold his own against other famous actors on the show like Cesar Romero as The Joker, Burgess Meredeth as the The Penguin, Frank Gorshin as the Riddler, Yvonne Craig as Batgirl, Julie Newmar as The Catwoman, Vincent Price as Egghead, Milton Berle as Louie the Lilac, and Shelley Winters as Ma Parker.

Adam West was the first Batman to appear on television in the Batman 66 television show. Adam West portrayed a Batman that was a strong moral character who got along well with the police and was a good role model and mentor to his ward Dick Grayson. Even though the show was a bit silly, Batman always got the bad guy in the end and the only violence in the show were the word balloons of punches and kicks.

My husband used to watch Batman 66 as a little boy.  That was his favorite television show.

While I am extremely saddened by the death of Adam West, I’m thrilled that his legacy will live on for years.
