Captain America & Wonder Woman Wedding Cake

Captain America Wonder Woman Wedding Cake

I love superheroes so I was excited when my niece and her fiancé wanted me to make a cake for their DC and Marvel superhero wedding.

The main theme was to be Captain America and Wonder Woman getting married with Deadpool climbing out of the cake and crashing the wedding.

We sat down together and looked at a lot of pictures and talked about how the cake should look.  Then I drafted a design sketch and sent it to them for their approval.

The bride and groom wanted to bottom tier to represent Cap, the middle tier to represent Wonder Woman, and the top tier to be a melding of the two.

The bottom tier was red, white, and blue stripes with Cap’s shield in the middle.  This was a red velvet cake with chocolate ganache filling.

The middle tier was navy blue with Wonder Woman’s gold symbol and with her gold lasso surrounding the tier. It was yellow butter cake with buttercream filling.

The top tier was white with a melding of Captain America’s shield and Wonder Woman’s logo to symbolize the marriage of the bride and groom. Wonder Woman’s lasso was around this tier too.

The cake was 26 inches high including the cake topper.

The topper was provided by the bride and groom. It was laser cut wood painted gold.
