This Flaming Spider-Man cake is the first cake I have seen where you light the cake and the flames change the appearance of the cake.
It looks like both Spider-Man’s webbing and the six candles with the Spider-Man emblem were covered in flash paper . Once lit, the paper quickly burns away to reveal what is underneath.
This wonderful cake was made by Cloud Bakery KW. It was the number one cake in my countdown of The Top 10 Cakes of 2024.
Spider-Man was probably sculpted in fondant. The cake was airbrushed to create the cloudy sky. The buildings look like they were cut out from black fondant.
Here’s a picture of the cake once the flash paper has burnt away to reveal the birthday name. This is a terrific way to add special effects to a birthday party.
