This fun Nightmare Before Christmas pumpkin carving captures Jack Skellington putting his own spooky spin on carving a Halloween pumpkin. The idea of a pumpkin carving of Jack Skellington carving a pumpkin is so much fun, I had to share it. This spooktacular pumpkin was carved by Megan Traverso. Megan also carved this lovely Frodo Baggins Pumpkin Carving.
Megan’s attention to detail is wonderful. Jack is holding up his pumpkin carving to inspect it. He should have the carving facing him, but Megan wisely has the carving facing us. This cool image wouldn’t be as appealing if you couldn’t see Jack’s carving.
I really like that you can see the table where Jack was working. It has two candles and two skulls on it. Since this is Jack’s house, there are cobwebs in the corners.
The single coolest part of Megan’s carving is Jack’s carving. It’s a perfect reproduction of Jack’s head. It has the same empty eye sockets, the same skeletal nose hole and the same sewn mouth. I could easily see Jack wearing this carving while dressing up as the Pumpkin King.
