Superb Little Mermaid 4th Birthday Cake

This superb Little Mermaid 4th Birthday Cake has 3 separate tiers.

This wonderful cake was made by Bela Andrade Cake

I like the use of color on this cake. I like the way each tier is colored aqua blue, fading into white in the middle. This color shading gives the cake a brighter look.

Secondly, the water plants and bubbles painted onto the cake make the scene look more like underwater.

Thirdly, a sand border surrounds each tier. There are tiny starfish and pearls in the sand.

Ariel Cake

Fourthly,  a number 4 and an oyster shell is on top of the cake to celebrate a 4th birthday.  Also, the pink starfish match the pink 4 at the top of the cake. Some pearls are in front of the shell.

Fifthly, the birthday name is written in purple letters. The purple color matches some of the purple sea plants and the purple of Ariel’s top.

Sixthly, Sebastian and Flounder are painted onto a separate of fondant. The bright water background gives a nice background for the characters.

Ariel Cake

Seventhly, Ariel has been painted onto a separate piece of fondant. Her tail in a darker shade of aqua and blends well with the aqua on the cake tiers.

In addition, some of the sea plants are darker aqua and match the aqua blue of the cake tiers.

This cake has some really nice features.

Firstly, as soon as you see the cake, your eyes are drawn to Ariel and then to Flounder.

Secondly, Ariel has a dreamy look in her eye. I can just imagine her daydreaming  about wanting to go where the people are and be part of that world. I can just imagine her singing:

Part of Your World

I want more
I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see, wanna see them dancing
Walking around on those
What do you call ’em?
Oh, feet
Flipping your fins you don’t get too far
Legs are required for jumping, dancing
Strolling along down a-
What’s that word again?
Up where they walk, up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wandering free
Wish I could be part of that world
What would I give if I could live
Out of these waters?
What would I pay to spend a day
Warm on the sand?
Betcha’ on land, they understand
Bet they don’t reprimand their daughters
Bright young women, sick of swimming
Ready to stand
I’m ready to know what the people know
Ask ’em my questions
And get some answers
What’s a fire and why does it-
What’s the word?
When’s it my turn?
Wouldn’t I love, love to explore that shore up above
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

Thirdly, Flounder and Ariel are two dimensional characters that are drawn on fondant or gumpaste. I like the way her hair is made with extra pieces of fondant to make her look more three dimensional.

Fourthly, green sea plants and purple and yellow corals and the sand around the cake make the it look more like the ocean bottom. The plants and corals appear to be made using fondant.

I really like these mini cakes.

Firstly, when you first look at these, you are drawn to Ariel’s face. Her face and hair were probably made using fondant pieces and are in front of a cake square. This gives a somewhat 3-D effect. Her eyes are terrific and she has a nice smile on her face.

Secondly, the colors are complimentary. The blue behind Ariel matches the blue of her fin. Also, the purple behind the fin matches the purple of the ribbons.

Thirdly, the cakes are a square shaped. They were probably covered in white chocolate to make them have such nice corners and edges.

In addition, the front side is covered by a square piece of fondant to make them look even more like perfect squares.

Fourthly, Ariel’s tail is made of fondant and placed in front of the square. There are seashells and coral beside the tail. It makes a nice contrast to alternate between these and the ones with her face.

Fifthly, these mini Little Mermaid cakes look a lot like upside-down cake pops. The sticks and the bows give them an festive elegance.

Ariel and Flounder Cake

This cute Little Mermaid cake has an adorable picture of Ariel and Flounder. This cake also has blue starfish on top the cake. The starfish look like they may be cookies.

Ariel is hugging Flounder and looks very happy to see him and he is hugging her and looks happy to see her too. What a cute picture!

The cake is pink with blue lines on the top and blue on the bottom to represent the coral and the ocean. The blue of the ocean matches the blue of the starfish.

Ariel is wearing a purple flower in her hair and has on a matching top.
